Story Text

What single moment stands out to you the most from the 2005-06 season?
Beating Uconn in overtime to win the regional championship!

Tell about your experiences during the Kryptonite Kids' magical run through the tournament:
TOTALLY AWESOME! Actually a reporter came in after the Uconn win and was interviewing people. I talked to her at length, and she published my interview. She was with Scripps Howard news service, they are a news wire service that writes stories for lots of papers and news media to carry. I told her all about waiting in line to buy shirts and how much i loved being at Mason. SHe asked why i wasn't going to Indiana. I told her partly because of money, thats a lot for a college student to spend. Well my interview was published all over the place Nevada, Texas, ESPN.com, and even my home town paper in Pennsylvania. Someone read my interview on ESPN.com and tracked my email address down. THis man emailed me and said he knew what it was like to miss a game due to lack of sufficient funds, and that when he was in college some kind older man gave him and his friends tickets to see their team play in the final four. THis man who emailed me felt like he needed to help in someway so he told me he would fund my ticket to Indiana. I was shocked....after that wore off i was sooo happy. I was goign to get to go to Indiana to see Mason in the Final FOur becasue of someones generosity.

What do you think this moment means for George Mason University?
I think the America is just finding out what George Mason is all about. People now know where we are, what we are, and most importantly who we are! THings will never be the same for Mason. We will never be in the final four for the first time, we probably will never upset as many number one seeded teams as we did this run. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to teach America about the Green and Gold. This is a big step forward not just for the basketball program but to the university, we are "showing" up larger more popular schools and showing prospective college students that we should be taken seriously. GO MASON!
