Story Text

What single moment stands out to you the most from the 2005-06 season?

the win over our opposing team University of Connecticut which I knew would put us in the final four

Tell about your experiences during the Kryptonite Kids' magical run through the tournament:

The team was impressive to start with. The rapport of the players among themselves and with the coach. The joy they had in playing. I yelled, clapped and screamed with each play.
It was the most fun watching basketball I had ever had and they were OUR team.

What do you think this moment means for George Mason University?
Everyone loves a cinderella story and the nation loved George Mason and its players. In sports, it meant a lot for George Mason. Now they could recruit anywhere for players. The University got a lot of publicity. In the last few years it deserved a lot more credit then it was getting as the largest in enrollment in the state of Virginia. It has an outstanding faculty and administration. A great deal has been happening on campus with new facilities and dormitories. I felt angry when the news media kept referring to it as a small school and glad when they corrected it. I am proud of George Mason University.
